18A: Create An Avatar

18A: Create A Customer Avatar What kind of hobbies does your customer have? I think that my ideal customer is engaged in your average high school hobbies. Probably lots of school based clubs, after school sports, or maybe even SAT tutoring. The idea here is to find students who do enough sports or activities to have a supple application for colleges.  What kind of car do they tend to drive? I don't think that the type of car should really play any importance but having a car in high school is typically something that students getting ready to graduate have. Also students with smaller cars could potentially be more targetable given that space is tight in the vehicle and the prepackaged dorm supplies would save trunk space for any of their clothes.  What TV shows do they watch?  I think that if they were like me in high school I watched a lot of The Office, Parks and Rec, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. This could potentially be a targeting po...

Elevator Pitch #2

I think that the introduction of my idea was superb and a feature of my last video, But what I think that my video lacked was a conclusion that elicited an investment. In this version of my video, I tried to be more dynamic in my voice and in my tone and be more persuasive about the business side of it, not just the idea. I presented more upon the ideas of my target audience and my ultimate goals with the help of more funding.

13A : Reading Reflection

1) You read about an entrepreneur: What surprised you the most? What surprised me most about Elon Musk was learning about his background and his life back in South Africa and learning about how involved he was with all his companies even though they are so large!  What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? Kind of leading off my last answer, I really admire that Elon Musk is still committed to ensuring his vision is brought to life by being involved with all the projects! He hasn't just taken a manager position or an overseer role but is still very passionate about all the things his companies are working on!  What about the entrepreneur did you  least  admire? I think that one of the things that I dislike about Elon after reading this book is his attitude towards his employees and his ego. He tends to work his employees to the point of exhaustion but who knows, maybe this is his way of challenging them and producing the seemingly impossible result...

14A - Halfway Reflection

Halfway Reflection 1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?  I think that the major tendency I have acquired not only for this course but for college as a whole is the ability and habit of keeping up with due dates and deadlines. There's nothing wrong with procrastination if it is a result of prioritization, but learning and understanding the line is something that I see lots of people still struggling with. For example, don't wait to do your blog post until Friday night because you wanted to go to Midtown on Thursday with your buddies then sleep through the next day. You can procrastinate writing your blog post if it means allowing time for activities that yield you a bigger result or are time sensitive.  2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel ...

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior

Sketching out the Beginning of the Buyer Behavior Process 1)  Pick a segment.  For my testing I have decided to test the market segment of students here at the University of Florida. I feel that this segment best represents my ideal customer because they are my ideal customer. I feel that this segment will provide meaningful information that will enhance my ability to market and sell my service/product. 2) N eed awareness.  During my interviews I've sound and concluded that the need does exist. Every person that I talked with agreed with and could relate to the problem and the frustration picking out and shopping for all of their dorm supplies. Everyone that I talked with agreed that there was no popularized solution to this problem and that is a solution or brought about that made things easier yet preserved their ability to express themselves then they would happily purchase. 4)  Move to information search.  When interviewing my prospects, they...

The Idea Napkin

The Idea Napkin 1)  You. My name is Parker Bird and  I tend to work great when it’s a project I’m passionate about! I like to work on things that have meaningful solutions and can see that my effort has brought about some sort of beneficial change, whether that’s in myself or my community or maybe even just my team. I find a lot of school work very tedious and rather dull even though it might be in something of my interest but it’s because it’s all in theory and lacks a certain reality that I need to feel like my work and effort is needed and worth my time.   I currently am working on two shopify stores with another on the way; I sell mainly offroad components such as light bars and fabricated parts such as bumpers but am chasing new markets towards other things that interest me such as tie bars and the fashion industry! Along side these ecommerce businesses I also run a small consulting agency called Social Sequencing, a company I started in high school with my b...
